Nuts & dry fruits are rich in protein, and in addition, they contain a high level of fat. They are thus a source of protein and a concentrated source of energy. They do not contain an appreciable amount of carbohydrate but contain high levels of B-vitamins. Groundnuts are particularly rich in thiamine and nicotinic acid. However, in amounts they are consumed, they may not contribute much to the intake of vitamin and minerals.
